Chicago Public Schools Eliminating All Sex-Specific Restrooms. Because ‘Equity.’

In Chicago, things known to mankind (I forgot, that word can get one cancelled these days) since the beginning of time are now outdated. To say that there is a real difference between boys and girls is now exclusionary.

The Chicago Public Schools District (CPS) is eliminating all sex-specific restrooms and updating the signage on every school bathroom in the district to make it clear that everyone is welcome in every bathroom.

No more separate restrooms for boys and girls.

Because “equity.”

According to a CPS video posted to Twitter, signs for the new “woke” restrooms read:

“All Gender Restroom. This is a single-stall restroom. All gender identities and expressions are welcome here.”
“Men’s+: This restroom has both urinals and stalls. All who feel comfortable are welcome to use this restroom.”
“Women’s+: This restroom has stalls. All who feel comfortable are welcome to use this restroom.”

Camie Pratt, Chief Title IX Officer for CPS said the district is “taking steps to create more inclusive and supportive schools.”

“We will be providing all schools with updated signage that makes our bathrooms more inclusive. It will identify the fixtures available in each restroom and make it clear that all restrooms are open for use by anyone who feels comfortable,” Pratt says.

She adds that this is “an incredibly important step to increase gender equity for all, which is why we will be requiring all schools to post this signage by December 1 of this school year.”

You may be wondering, how can someone trust CPS to educate their kids, when the educators seemingly don’t know the difference between boys and girls?

Well according to the data, you can’t.

Chicago’s public schools are failing.

Over the last two decades, students have fled the CPS system. The district has lost over 100,000 students, or 25%, between 2000 and 2021 – down from 431,750 to 327,000. CPS is still the 3rd largest public school system in the United States.

The data shows that only 30% of black students meet 3rd grade reading standards, and only 14% of black 11th graders meet reading standards.

Additionally, for Hispanic students, just 37% meet reading standards in 3rd grade while 25% do so by 11th grade.

Clearly, CPS is failing in its primary job, which is to educate its students. Not to indoctrinate them into today’s woke gender ideology.

To help parents navigate their child’s public school, Focus on the Family has created a new, free resource, Back to School for Parents: A busy parent’s guide to what’s happening in your children’s classrooms and practical steps you can take to protect them.

The resource can help you stay informed with happenings in your child’s school. It also makes suggestions on how to respectfully advocate on behalf of your child and gives guidance on how to discuss difficult topics with them.
