Sen. Rand Paul and Other Trump Supporters Accosted by BLM Mob Following Trump’s Acceptance Speech

Following President Trump’s speech last night where he accepted the Republican Party’s nomination for president, Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., and other attendees of the speech were accosted near the White House by Black Lives Matter protesters.

In a viral video (warning: explicit language) of the incident posted to social media, which has since garnered 8 million views, Black Lives Matter protesters can be seen yelling at the senator. Sen. Paul, surrounded by around a half dozen police from the Washington, D.C. Police Department, ignores the protesters and continues walking with his wife.

“Say her name! Say her name! Say her name!” the protesters yell at Sen. Paul, referring to the officer-involved shooting incident of Breonna Taylor earlier this year. “Get back! Get back! Get back!” the officers yell at the surrounding crowd.

At one point, as an officer is pushing the crowd back, two men in the crowd push the officer over. Sen. Paul stops walking and checks on the officer to make sure he’s ok. The officer appears to respond in the affirmative, and then Sen. Paul’s wife pulls on his arm to keep moving.

As the officer fell over, one woman can be heard in the background laughing hysterically.

“Her name is Breonna Taylor!” one woman yells at Sen. Paul eight times towards the end of the video.

Ironically, one fact that seems to have been lost on the mob is that Sen. Paul recently introduced the “Justice for Breonna Taylor Act” for consideration in the U.S. Senate. The act would effectively “prohibit no-knock warrants.”

“Just got attacked by an angry mob of over 100, one block away from the White House,” Sen. Paul tweeted last night at 11:39 PM. “Thank you to @DCPoliceDept for literally saving our lives from a crazed mob.”

Sen. Paul’s wife, Kelley Paul, correcting Politico’s coverage of the incident wrote on Twitter, “No @politico, we were not ‘confronted’ by protestors. We were circled by a hateful mob shouting vile expletives, preventing us from moving.”

“It was horrific,” Sen. Paul said in an interview on Fox & Friends Friday morning. “We walked one block, but as we walked one block, we could see some police in the distance, but we also saw a mob of about 30 people marching and yelling. They all of a sudden saw me, right as we got to the policemen fortunately, or I don’t think we would have survived.”

“They were shouting threats… to kill us, to hurt us… you couldn’t reason with this mob, but I’m actually the author of the Breonna Taylor law to end no-knock raids. So, the irony is lost on these idiots that they’re trying to kill the person who’s actually trying to get rid of no-knock raids,” Sen. Paul said.

Another video (warning: explicit language) posted to social media showed the Black Lives Matter mob cursing at and flipping off attendees of the president’s speech, including an elderly couple.

In the video, cries of, “F*** you” are yelled repeatedly while at one point, a young, male protester gets in the face of an elderly couple and flips them off with both hands while simultaneously yelling at them.
