U.S. Air Force and Navy Adopt Trendy and Distracting Woke Policies

Every branch of the United States’ military exists for one reason: to always be mission ready to defend the safety, strength, and freedom of our great nation. It is certainly not to be trendy and help people feel good about their own individual expression. Concerns with such things are hinderances to the constant mission readiness of our military because they are dangerously distracting.

The United States Air Force (USAF) has unfortunately caved to such fashionable distractions by allowing personnel to use grammatically challenged pronoun announcements in their official email signature blocks, as if determining whether you are serving alongside a man or woman has ever been an actual problem to anyone. According to Stars and Stripes, a major source for American military news, the Air Force has newly created the “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer/Questioning Initiative Team” to “identify and work to resolve issues that impede the success of LGBTQ airmen and Guardians, according to the Air Force”.

This team has persuaded the Air Force to authorize and encourage the use of creative gender pronouns in service members’ official email correspondence. It is not clear if such fashionable designations will eventually be presented on uniform name tags. Do not be surprised if that happens. The USAF directive explains,

Offering no explanation or actual evidence, Under Secretary of the Air Force Gina Ortiz Jones confidently asserts, “An inclusive force is a mission-ready force, and I am thankful to the LGBTQ Initiatives Team for helping us realize this opportunity to be a more inclusive force.” If this is indeed true, it does make one wonder how our American military defeated the Nazis, the Russian Cold War and won two world wars without the supposed essential benefit of “an inclusive force.” Wokeness has our military spending energy on ideological distractions that were only recently dreamed up by activists.

The new USAF policy supposedly “promotes greater respect for and recognition of an individual’s identity,” says an email from the Air Force’s director of diversity and inclusion. The email also states that not all names are “Anglo/Western,” and some are gender-neutral.

Stars and Stripes reported there has been healthy push-back to the new policy,

“Many of more than 400 comments on the Facebook post derided the change as an unnecessary nod to political correctness when the military is faced with more pressing issues, from suicide in the force to tensions with China and Russia.”

One Air Force veteran, Barba Biers Man, complained, “For fool’s sake. This is the most pressing issue we got?! PRONOUNS?!” USAF pilot Brandon Giles stated, “This crap is why we are going to lose the next war…” USAF aircraft maintenance technician Spencer Everitt humorously announced his new personal pronouns are “engine/turbine/prop.”

Navy Extends Boot Camp for Sensitivity Training

The Navy has also just recently extended basic boot camp from eight to ten weeks so recruits can learn soft skills like personal coping competencies, sleep and stress management, and education in racism and political “extremism.”

The Biden administration ordered the Navy to undergo an operational “stand down” on “extremism,” during which some sailors told Fox News the service engaged in politically charged training allowing sailors to advocate for things like Black Lives Matter while on duty, but were prohibited from taking other unfashionable “political” stances.

The Pentagon has also publicly criticized those who question these new woke policies. Gen. Mark Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, publicly defends his decision to study critical race theory and encourage it on military reading lists.

Because the U.S. military has a singular goal, the only politics and ideology our service members should be engaged in is the defense of America the values it stands for. To distract our military professionals by baseless and unproven fashionable trends that arose yesterday afternoon certainly does not strengthen our nation. Wokeism does not protect against war or prepare anyone to win them, which is the single purpose of our military. Do not distract these men and women from their vital task with silliness.
