Trump Administration Ends Funding for ‘Anti-American Propaganda’ in Government Agencies

The Trump Administration recently announced that it is cutting “millions of taxpayer dollars” which is spent by federal government agencies to train government workers to “believe divisive, anti-American propaganda.”

Russ Vought, the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, sent a letter to the heads of the Executive Branch’s departments and agencies explaining and ordering the cut in funding.

“Employees across the Executive Branch have been required to attend trainings where they are told that ‘virtually all white people contribute to racism’ or where they are required to say that they ‘benefit from racism,’” the letter explained.

These trainings “run counter to the fundamental beliefs” of the United States and “engender division and resentment within the Federal workforce,” which is why they must end, the letter also noted.

“The days of taxpayer funded indoctrination trainings that sow division and racism are over,” Director Vought wrote about the order on Twitter. “Under the direction of @POTUS we are directing agencies to halt critical race theory trainings immediately.”

Senator Josh Hawley, R-Mo., announced his support of the president’s move on Twitter, adding that he has been calling for an investigation into the training for weeks.

“Last month, I asked for an investigation of taxpayer funding of ‘critical race theory’ in federal agencies – last night, @realDonaldTrump ended it across the government,” Sen. Hawley tweeted on Saturday. “This divisive, Marxist-inspired nonsense shouldn’t receive a single taxpayer dime.”

Director Vought wrote in the letter that President Trump had told him to ensure federal government agencies “cease and desist from using taxpayer dollars” to fund and support the training sessions.

He also noted that further direction would be forthcoming, and that for now each agency must identify any spending related to “critical race theory” or “white privilege,” and when identified, must begin to create plans to end the training sessions and cancel any related contracts.

“Critical race theory” training sessions aim to teach attendees to view every aspect of society through the lens of race.

According to Discovery Institute researcher Christopher Rufo, one such training for Sandia National Laboratories deemed “golf,” “quick decisions” and “risk taking” as a part of “white male culture.”

In another such incident over the summer, the National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC), a part of the Smithsonian Institution, released an infographic and webpage which called the “nuclear family,” “the scientific method,” “the Judeo-Christian Tradition” and “hard work” as a part of “white culture.”

Facing immediate and immense backlash, the museum quickly took down the infographic stating that it “did not contribute to the productive discussion.”

In concluding his memo, Director Vought wrote, “The divisive, false, and demeaning propaganda of the critical race theory movement is contrary to all we stand for as Americans and should have no place in the Federal government.”
