Tennessee Protects Women and Preborn Babies by Passing Ban on Mail-Order Abortions

The abortion industry claims to be a protector and promoter of women’s rights. In reality, it’s anything but.

Abortion clinics prey upon women’s vulnerability, all under the guise of offering them a helping hand in their moment of need.

Take Planned Parenthood as an example. Though it’s legally a “nonprofit,” the nation’s leading abortion seller reaped an enormous revenue of $1.64 billion in FY 2020, netting a $69.7 million profit.

How does a nonprofit (that received $618.1 million in taxpayer dollars in FY 2020) net a nearly $70 million profit in one year?

For anyone who thinks Planned Parenthood isn’t in it for the money, that fact should instantly set off their internal alarm bells.

The organization claims that it provides “care and education to millions” and fights “for the rights of all people. No matter what.”

More like, if they get paid.

As the U.S. Supreme Court currently considers whether to overrule Roe v. Wade and grant states greater latitude to prohibit abortions, multiple states across the nation have passed various pro-life laws to protect preborn babies.

The state of Tennessee recently passed a bill to prohibit abortionists from dispensing the abortion pill to women via mail.

Under the new bill, which has gone to the Tennessee governor for final approval, a woman must “visit a doctor in advance and then return to pick up the pills.”

This measure protects women from taking this dangerous drug regimen without speaking to anyone in person.

Additionally, under the bill the two drugs that make up the abortion pill – mifepristone and misoprostol – can only be dispensed by a qualified physician.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently did away with the “in-person dispensing requirement” for the abortion pill, which had been in place for 20 years prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Pro-abortion activist groups used the COVID-19 pandemic to promote mail-order abortions.

“With the onset of telemedicine appointments, combined with the FDA’s decision to allow women to obtain the abortion pill by mail, many women will abort their preborn babies without ever seeing someone in-person,” The Daily Citizen previously recounted.

Though pro-abortion proponents like to promote the abortion pill as harmless – they say it’s safer than Tylenol – the pill can come with serious side effects.

“Common complications from a chemical abortion includes pain, bleeding, nausea, vomiting diarrhea, chills and fever, with severe complications including hemorrhaging, infection/sepsis, incomplete abortion, uterus rupture and death,” we’ve previously written.

Indeed, chemical abortions now account for 40% of all abortions in the United States.

As pro-abortion activists evolve and expand to make abortion more available and accessible, pro-life supporters’ fight to protect life in the womb and save women from taking harmful drugs must evolve along with it.

In that vein, some women, after taking the first abortion pill (mifepristone) come to regret their decision. Thankfully, there is a way to reverse the pill’s effects if prompt action is taken.
