How Transgenderism is Getting Increasingly Silly, Deceptive, and Cultish

It used to be that people who said they were trans were troubled, hurting individuals struggling with clinically measurable confusion about their own mistaken self-conception and the truth of their bodies. Such people deserved genuine compassion and serious attention to help them live in healthy relationship between the two.

But this is no longer the case. Not by a long shot.

It is important all citizens fully appreciate just how dramatically trans ideology and its rhetoric is devolving into the truly ridiculous because our children are being caught up in it and we are all being pressured to play along with it as if it is normal.

A Portland Oregon ABC News affiliate recently highlighted how CNN was being mocked for publishing a list neopronouns. The CNN piece listed words people are now applying to themselves that have no connection to reality in any way.

The problem is CNN pretends these words are real things, explaining that “some may choose to select a noun to describe themselves, like ‘star’ or ‘starself’ in place of binary pronouns like ‘she’ or ‘herself.’” CNN adds, “these are called nounself neopronouns.” The list of examples CNN provided are all full-on non-sense words, as evidenced in this screenshot.

The New York Times has also reported on neopronouns as if they are something that describe real human phenomena. The ridiculousness is obvious from the Gray Lady’s own description.

Noun-self pronouns can refer to animals — so your pronouns can be “bun/bunself” and “kitten/kittenself.” Others refer to fantasy characters — “vamp/vampself,” “prin/cess/princesself,” “fae/faer/faeself” — or even just common slang, like “Innit/Innits/Innitself.”

The real problem is that the rest of us are being instructed to take all this all very seriously because that is how the game is now being played. You will be told, by health professionals even, that you could be responsible for someone taking their own life if you misgender them or refuse to use a person’s so-called preferred pronouns.

Such accusations are cruel manipulation, and no one should be moved by them.

Refusing to play along with these made-up terms is not unique to Christians or conservatives. Progressive feminist and gender theorist Camile Paglia explains why in a 2017 talk she gave at the Brooklyn Public Library on her book Free Women, Free Men: Sex, Gender, Feminism.

She rejects, in very strong terms, that any reasonable person should participate in any sort of pronoun craziness.

This political agitation to change everyday common speech, are you kidding me? People shouldn’t be putting up with this for one second. What kind of nonsense is this? Absolute nonsense.

Professor Paglia maintains forced use “is an intrusion into other people’s rights.” She concludes strongly, “The English language belongs to everyone. How dare you tell us how we are going to use pronouns.” She ends by saying pronoun enforcers should “go take a hike.”

Gender Hybrids: Making It Up as They Go, Literally

Professor Diane Ehrensaft is on the faculty of UC San Francisco’s Benioff Children’s Hospital and is the author of The Gender Creative Child. She is one of the intellectual leaders in the deliberate celebration and encouragement of any and every form of so-called “gender creativity” or “gender expansiveness.” For her, the more possibilities the better. She and her colleagues have never met a new gender conception they couldn’t celebrate.

In a 2018 talk at the San Francisco Public Library on “gender creative children,” Ehrensaft carefully explains how all this is being made up in real time. She tells her audience, “As you know, language is political. So, what’s good today will be politically incorrect tomorrow, so we will just keep changing as we go.” As we will see, it is politics, ideology and creativity, not objective science, driving the language of the gender revolution.

She is also clear about where she is gaining her knowledge. Again, not science, but the beliefs of 7-year-old children she sees in her practice. She is fully accepting and wholly uncritical of their self-diagnoses, something regular medical professionals would never do.

She introduces her audience, with all seriousness, to a handful of brand-new inventions from these gender creative children. She speaks affirmatively of each as if they are legitimate discoveries of some new kind of human truth that we should all be mindful of.

Gender Prius – This was a boy who announced “I’m a boy in the front and a girl in the back. I’m a hybrid.”

Gender Minotaur – This was a term Ehrensaft coined to describe children who explained, “I’m one thing on the top, and another thing on the bottom” as a way of denying their genitalia. It’s why they love mermaids, she explained.

Gender by Season – This is a child who is boy in the summer, girl in winter or binary over some months and so-called non-binary during others.

Gender by Location – One thing at home, another at school or at grandmas.

Gender Telsa – She included this on her list, without any real explanation, simply because its what a child told her she was. And so she was. Say it, and it is. That’s how new genders are created now.

Gender Ambidextrous – It is best to let Ehrensaft describe this in her own words because she unwittingly demonstrates how hollow and damaging all this really is.

Now this came to me where two moms asked me to see their child because they could not figure their child out; their child refused to declare a gender. And both moms are scientists and they said, “We just want facts, we want answers.” I met with the child and I didn’t know either.

Can you believe that? The child self-identified as a girl across the street with neighbors and a boy with her brother. Apparently, nothing in particular at all other times. She continues, describing a follow-up session.

I thought “I’ve got two scientists here; I don’t know what to do. I don’t have facts for them.” So I made it up, right then. I said, “You know what I discovered. You have a gender ambidextrous child.”

Ehrensaft then concluded with excitement, “And all of a sudden, it caught on like wildfire and all these kids love being gender ambidextrous.”

Get that? She just dressed up something she devised on the spot as a “discovery.” The two scientists declared, “Great! We love it. It’s scientific, we can tell our friends it can have to do with the brain.”

That’s how the gender revolution operates.

Gender Smoothies – This new one came to her, not from a child, but a teen who she describes happily as “gender expansive and as exciting as you could imagine.” Note that this the language of an ideologue. The teen told Ehrensaft “You take everything about gender, put it in a blender, push the button, you have me: gender smoothie.”

Everything about gender… Ehrensaft presents this look-at-me-ism with all wonder and seriousness.

Agender youth – A person who says they have no gender. Of course, this is deeply problematic if you consider that the new gender orthodoxy holds that “sex is what is between your legs and gender is what is between your ears.”

Last, but not least…

Gender Tootsie Roll Pops – Yes, Ehrenseft says these words with a straight face, explaining it “is the most concerning group,” kids who “are one thing on the outside and the other on the inside.” She admits these are kids that are clinically gender dysphoric.

In this talk, Professor Ehrenseft demonstrates how the “trans” game has shifted from clinical body dysmorphia to creative play acting.

This is not science, but a wholly made-up ideology about what it means to be human. This is all clearly demonstrated in the slide she used for her talk.

According to the new rules, you will be expected to accept all of these as real things that must be affirmed in whatever way the child demands.

This is how the game is now being played and refusal to play comes with severe socio/political/economic consequences. And to say “You must join me in my made-up reality to help me feel good about myself” is the very definition of dysfunction and manipulation.

Play Acting

As can be seen easily be these made-up words and wholly subjective personal identities that have nothing to do with clinical gender dysphoria have taken over what transgenderism is.

Afterall, the most famous trans representative in the world is an adult man playing at being girl. Dylan Mulvaney has never tried to telegraph any kind of seriousness about what he is doing. This is evidenced hereherehere, and here. He is an attention seeker and a fabulist.

Mulvaney’s colleague and role-model, Jeffrey Marsh, is playing the role of recruiter and evangelist in this cultish new religion that is transgenderism. Such talk is not hyperbole. The truth of it is demonstrated in this 10-minute video which is well worth watching in full.

Transgenderism has fast become far more than troubled souls who believe they are the other sex and are trying their best to live in line with that confusion. Such people do exist, their suffering is real and they deserve our compassion as they learn to live with biological reality. But they are an extremely small fraction of what “trans” has evolved into.

It is now a race to create new identities that don’t even exist in anyone else’s reality, the enforcement of new language codes upon the rest of us, and the active recruitment of vulnerable youth into it all through social media by truly deceptive people.
