Virginia state Senator Amanda Chase recently announced that she is planning to introduce legislation to protect children in Old Dominion from harmful and irreversible “sex change” procedures.
Senator Chase recently told radio host John Fredericks that she will introduce a version of the Save Adolescents From Experimentation (SAFE) Act that was first introduced and passed in the state of Arkansas last year, according to the Post Millennial.
“10 years ago, if you had said that we’re going to chop off the body parts of our kids, you would be put in jail,” said Chase. “You would be sent to a mental health facility.”
“The woke extreme is trying to promote dysfunctional behavior in our kids using propaganda in K-5 schools. I think this is about destroying the very fabric of America … This globalist left extreme agenda wants to destroy America from the inside out and they’re doing that with our kids,” she added.
“We’re going to make sure that we protect all of Virginia’s children, that we’re not going to be mutilating children in Virginia.”
At least 15 states are currently considering similar restrictions, while four states – Alabama, Arkansas, Texas and Arizona – have already enacted laws prohibiting at least some “sex change” procedures.
Only Arizona’s bill (which takes effect March 31, 2023) is not currently blocked by a court ruling.
Following the revelation in September that Vanderbilt University’s Transgender Health Clinic “drugs, chemically castrates, and performs double mastectomies on minors,” the Tennessee state legislature is also considering legislation to prohibit “sex change” procedures on children and adolescents.
A new poll from the Trafalgar Group recently found that nearly 80% of Americans agree that “underage minors should be required to wait until they are adults to use puberty blockers and undergo permanent sex change procedures.” Just 21% of Americans disagreed with that statement.
The poll found that a majority of Americans from both parties, Democrats (53%), Independents (85%) and Republicans (97%) agreed that minors should be required to wait until they are adults to make these irreversible, harmful and life altering decisions.
The state of Virginia seems to be the hot ground for many of the most important societal battles occurring today, including parental rights, whether minors should be able to medically “transition” their sex, and if schools should be able to help children “socially transition” without their parent’s knowledge or consent.
Just last week, the Daily Citizen reported on a proposed Virginia bill introduced by delegate Elizabeth Guzman which would actually penalize parents criminally who refuse to affirm their child’s sexual identity confusion.
According to the bill, a parent who refuses to affirm their children’s sexual identify confusion could be investigated for “child abuse,” be subject to a police and child protective services investigation, and face felony criminal penalties.
It may seem like common sense to protect minors from harmful and experimental procedures, like puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgical procedures. But in our modern, Western society, that’s no longer the case.
Let’s pray for, vote for, and encourage our elected officials to support this kind of wholly common-sense legislation to protect children.
