A top Democrat operative who has helped rig elections for decades is coming clean. In a recent interview, he revealed how easy it is to rig vote-by-mail elections and disclosed some of the strategies he uses to manipulate and change ballots.
This anonymous fraudster told The New York Post that voter fraud is more the rule than the exception. He spoke to The Post on condition of anonymity because he fears being prosecuted for the decades he has spent committing voter fraud.
“An election that is swayed by 500 votes, 1,000 votes — it can make a difference. It could be enough to flip states,” the fraudster told The Post.
He then revealed five of the ways that he has helped rig elections and acknowledged that he has led teams of up to 20 people to do so.
The first way is through “phony ballots.” According to the fraudster, he would make copies of official ballots, because each paper, mail-in ballot has no security features.
“I just put [the ballot] through the copy machine and it comes out the same way,” he told The Post.
Instead, the security comes from the return envelope which voters must mail back with their signature.
According to The Post, in order to collect return envelopes, the fraudster’s comrades would go door-to-door and offer to return the voter’s ballot as a “public service.”
With the voter’s ballot and signed return envelope in-hand, he and his compatriots would take the ballots back and heat the ballot up over the steam of boiling water in order to loosen the glue. Then they would replace the ballot with their counterfeit, reseal it and then mail it in.
The ballot would still be counted because the voter’s signature would still be on the envelope.
“Five minutes per ballot tops,” he said.
A second way is through “inside jobs.”
This involves rigging elections with the help of postal workers.
“You have a postman who is a rabid anti-Trump guy and he’s working in Bedminster or some Republican stronghold … He can take those [filled-out] ballots, and knowing 95% are going to a Republican, he can just throw those in the garbage,” the fraudster told The Post.
Additionally, the postal workers would turn over completed mail-in ballots, with the signed envelopes, to the fraudster for them to change out with counterfeit ballots, as per their first strategy.
The three other methods that the insider mentioned include going from room to room in nursing homes to fill out ballots for the elderly, voting in-person at polling stations in states that didn’t require voter ID and bribing homeless people to go vote for a specific candidate.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, an unprecedented number of people are expected to vote by mail this year. This has raised concerns that voter fraud may increase substantially.
In a recent interview on CNN, Attorney General William Barr took Wolf Blitzer to task for his suggestion that there is no evidence that widespread voter fraud occurs.
“Mail-in voting is fraught with the risk of fraud and coercion,” Barr said. “We indicted someone in Texas, 1,700 ballots collected from people who could vote, he made them out and voted for the person he wanted to. OK? That kind of thing of thing happens with mail-in ballots, and everyone knows that.”
According to an analysis from The New York Times, nine states will send mail-in ballots directly to all registered voters, regardless of whether they request one or not. Thirty-four states allow absentee/vote-by-mail voting for any reason and seven states will require a voter to provide a good reason as to why they cannot vote in person before requesting an absentee ballot.
For Americans who want to ensure their ballots are properly counted this November, two things can be learned from the fraudster’s confession.
Many states provide ballot drop-off locations where voters can take their ballot directly to a drop-off box for it to be counted. Voters who do this bypass the United States Postal Service and eliminate the possibility that their ballot falls into the wrong hands or gets lost in the mail.
Additionally, many states provide a way for voters to check the status of their mail-in ballot. If you vote by mail or drop off your ballot at an election drop box, be sure to check the status of your ballot prior to Election Day. You should be able to do so on your state’s secretary of state website.
