Chick-fil-A is home of the original chicken sandwich, freshly brewed iced tea, and well-known for its friendly employees and southern hospitality.
There’s a reason that for seven years in a row, Chick-fil-A has earned the title of “Best fast-food restaurant” by the American Consumer Satisfaction Index.
It’s not like Americans need another reason to frequent the chicken chain, but they recently got one more.
One Chick-fil-A employee stood outside his restaurant and played taps on his trumpet to honor fallen American soldiers and commemorate Memorial Day.
Though the heartwarming tribute took place in 2020, this Memorial Day the video again went viral and garnered over 11 million additional views on social media channels, with over 30,000 likes.
The restaurant was the Chick-fil-A Wards Road & River Ridge in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Introducing the young, male employee, the location’s marketing director began the video saying, “We just wanted to take time to honor all of our military today. For those who gave their all serving our country, we’re now going to have taps played by one of our team members.”
Several individuals on Facebook wrote kind comments after watching the video.
“No wonder Chic Filet [sic] is so popular, they care for America and her principles,” one individual wrote.
“As a [sic] Army veteran I thank you for honoring all those who have fallen by playing this,” another said.
The event marks just one more way Chick-fil-A continues to fulfill S. Truett Cathy’s dream. He once said, “We should be about more than just selling chicken. We should be a part of our customer’s lives and the communities in which we serve.”
