Moms for Liberty, a parental rights activist group, posted a tweet showing mail it had received from Seattle middle school students urging the organization to “stop bullying and excluding LGBTQ youth and families.”
Of course, the organization does not “bully and exclude,” it simply opposes sexualizing and confusing children with inappropriate books, curriculums, teaching and student clubs.
The colorful cards and letters included LGBT activist slogans, such as “Love is Love & ur wrong”; “Gay is Slay, Stop Being a Rat”; “Girl Love” and “The oppressed are aways [sic] the protagonists.” The cards were crafted by middle schoolers, part of a Gender and Sexuality Alliance Club (GSA) in the Seattle Public School District.

The cards were accompanied by a typed letter which read:
Dear Moms for Liberty,
Please read the enclosed cards from concerned middle school students in Seattle, Washington.
Sincerely,
Ann Christianson
Seattle Public School Middle School Teacher & GSA Coordinator
Christianson teaches social studies at Jane Addams Middle School and leads the GSA for sixth through eighth graders. The school club is not an anomaly in Seattle schools; the district lists many LGBTQ programs and resources, and states:
We are proud to have Gender and Sexuality Alliances aka Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) groups at almost all high schools and many middle schools.
Moms for Liberty Co-Founder Tiffany Justice tweeted, “This isn’t about sexual orientation. This is about the sexualization of children. It’s completely unnecessary and actually quite harmful.”
Fox Nation just honored Justice and Moms for Liberty’s Co-Founder Tina Descovich with its 2023 “Most Valuable Patriot Award” for their efforts to protect parent’s rights in education.
Justice told the Daily Citizen:
Public School Administrators should put our public taxpayer dollars towards fixing the abysmal reading scores in the US rather than writing hate letters. Taxpayers spend over $18,000 per student every year on public education in the Seattle Public Schools. There is no world in which activism in schools is more important than the basic skills of reading and writing.
Justice has a point: That kind of spending should bring better results than just 53.5% of students meeting math standards; 63.6% meeting English and language arts standards; and 48.3% meeting science standards in Seattle schools.
GSAs are student run clubs that typically have a school staff member as a sponsor. The first GSA was founded in 1988 by a transgender-identified student and a “straight ally” in Concord Massachusetts. The club was sponsored by Kevin Jennings, a history teacher who had recently announced his gay identity.
Jennings was severely bullied while growing up by classmates who saw him as effeminate. He went on to start the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network, now known simply as GLSEN, and served in the U.S. Department of Education in the Obama administration.
Under the guise of protecting gay- and transgender-identified students from bullying, GSAs led the way in bringing LGBT activism into schools. GLSEN now coordinates a network of 43 chapters in 30 states, claiming more than 1.5 million educators, parents and students as members.
Along with GLSEN, GSAs promote special days and weeks to be celebrated in schools, such as the Day of Silence and Ally Week.
A similar but separate organization, GSA Network (Genders & Sexualities Alliance Network), started in San Francisco in 1998 and now connects over 1,100 clubs across California and coordinates networks of GSA clubs in 40 different states.
GSAs are rooted in the false notion that homosexuality and transgenderism are at the center of a person’s core identity. Rather than acknowledging that children come in two types, as either boys or girls, GSAs foster the idea that children are “born gay” or “born in the wrong body” and they can be labelled by adult sexual thoughts and feelings at a young age.
This sexualizes, indoctrinates and confuses children – making them more likely to experiment with different sexual identities and behaviors.
Students sometimes participate in such clubs without parental knowledge or consent. As reported by the Daily Citizen, the California Teachers Association recently held a conference about promoting LGBT issues in schools: “Beyond the Binary: Identity & Imagining Possibilities.”
Two middle school teachers taught a workshop, “How We Run a ‘GSA’ in Conservative Communities.” The educators shared how to target students and entice them into participating. They also explained how to circumvent parents who might want to know whether their children are part the club, explaining:
Because we are not official – we have no club rosters, we keep no records. … In fact, sometimes we don’t really want to keep records because if parents get upset that their kids are coming? We’re like, ‘Yeah, I don’t know. Maybe they came?’ You know, we would never want a kid to get in trouble for attending if their parents are upset.
GSAs have been a key component in bringing radical sexual ideology into schools. The organizations produce a multitude of resources for students and teachers – including toolkits and curriculums for use in the classroom.
With such radical activist clubs in schools across the nation, it’s vital for parents to be involved in their children’s lives and education, grounding them in the reality of their identity as male or female and in the truth and goodness of God’s design for relationships and sexuality.
