In a recent interview with Jennifer Palimeri on “The Circus,” Hillary Clinton said that Joe Biden should not concede the election to President Trump “under any circumstances” in November.
“Joe Biden should not concede under any circumstances because I think this is going to drag out and, eventually, I do believe he will win if we don’t give an inch, and if we are as focused and relentless as the other side is,” Clinton said.
After Clinton said Biden should not concede the election, Palimeri threw both of her arms up expressing agreement with her remarks.
In her comments, Clinton also referenced the army of lawyers that the Biden campaign has hired in preparation to contest the election results this November.
“We’ve got to have a massive legal operation, and I know the Biden campaign is working on that,” Clinton said. She also said that she believes Democrats need more poll workers to counter the “force of intimidation” that Republicans will display outside polling places in November.
Clinton cited no evidence to support her claim of “intimidation.”
As Clinton alluded to, the Biden campaign recently hired 600 lawyers who will be ready to file lawsuits and intervene in states around the country if the election results are close on election night.
The Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee (RNC) recently doubled their legal budget for the 2020 election from $10 to $20 million dollars.
A website paid for by the RNC tracks the election law legal battles playing out around the country. A map on the site shows that the Trump campaign and the RNC have intervened in lawsuits in Washington, California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maine, Rhode Island, Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina and Florida.
In Florida, for example, the “Republican Party defended a longstanding state law that placed President Trump and Republicans at the top of the ballot.”
Following Clinton’s comments, Trump campaign lawyer Matthew Morgan said Clinton is “unashamedly trying to lay the groundwork for Joe Biden to deny the election results when President Trump wins,” in a statement to Politico on Tuesday. “Democrats are rushing to radically change the way Americans vote 70 days before a general election.”
